Troost Lodge

Troost

Troost Lodge was finished in 2001 and is the newest retreat center at Fowler. It is named in honor of Rev. Donald Troost, who was the Synod of Albany Executive for many years and was very instrumental in the development of Camp Fowler's retreat ministries. We think this building still makes Don smile.

Troost Lodge has everything you want a small Adirondack cabin to have: warm stove to sit around on a chilly night; enclosed porch overlooking Sacandaga Lake; secluded location at the end of the camp road which accentuates the sounds of silence.

Upstairs the two bunk rooms each can sleep five guests and have their own bathrooms and showers. While downstairs we have a fully furnished kitchen where you can prepare your favorite Adirondack victuals!

Inside Troost

Currently Troost Lodge also accommodates our summer program's nature center and many mounted specimens of Adirondack wildlife are there to remind us of the beauty and wonder still alive in these woods.

Troost is one of camp's best secrets and we want word to get out about how wonderful it is to spend time here. Perfect for one or two families to come renew friendships or for a small study group in your church or from your work place to spend time together.

You can hop on one of Fowler's hiking trails right out the back door! Don't forget to bring your binoculars to spot birds or your star chart to point out your favorite constellations.
