Wilderness

Some of us would rather be outside than anywhere else.

Some of us live to wake up to the birds, cook a meal over a small backpacking stove, strap on a pack or load a canoe, and travel through the heart of the wilds. This is what our wilderness program is about.

Each week, one or two small groups of campers (usually around 8 with 2 trained staff) head into the Adirondack backcountry canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, sailing, or a combination of the above. It's our prayer that each camper have a terrific week where they learn more about what they can do physically and mentally, have an experience of living in a strong and supportive community, learn how to travel lightly through the woods leaving no trace, and experience a sense of awe and wonder for the God who has created it all.
