Our Fowler Story
It seems to me that even those folks (both young and old) who are deeply and truly
thankful for Fowler and the blessings it scatters over and around us all, cannot know the gratitude anmd thankfulness I feel just at the thought of this "wonder-full" place. It has been a happy place of unique camping experiences and a source of special joy and healing to my children and to me.
In 1967 we had to endure and recover from the terror, loneliness and grief of the sudden heart attack and death of my husband (while we were camping in the Adirondacks.) He loved his family with deep commitment, enthusiasm, and joy. At the birth of our fifth child the delivery room nurse remarked, "I get such a kick out of these first-time fathers!" We wanted to remember him this happy.
Since then, the gifts of this special part of creation have been our "rod and staff." Camp Fowler's planners, workers, supporters, staff, and campers help to keep us thankful and strong. We will eternally grateful for this blessing.
